About Us

Spina Records was formed in 2014 by Andrew and Jess Spina. Spina originally opened as a small independent vinyl record shop in the heart of the Rutgers campus. Andrew Spina, a New Brunswick local & Rutgers graduate, developed his expertise in the business through an apprenticeship at Amber Lion Antiques, where he focused on furniture restoration, vintage décor, and record curation. 

 

While operating a prominent brick and mortar store from 2014 to 2025, Spina Records helped to contribute to the local arts and music scene in Central New Jersey. Both lovers of all things old, Jess and Andrew's experience with booking local bands, performing & recording music, hosting art exhibits and participating in Rutgers-sponsored panel discussions on the local music scene have given them the experience needed to source the best items at the best prices.

 

Today, Spina is an online store specializing in unique records, antiques and vintage collectibles.The business has successfully pivoted to an online model complemented by mobile carts in niche locations - continuing the founders' passion for music and unique oddities. Jess and Andrew Spina run Spina Records from their family homestead in the Princeton NJ area. Their passion for music, antiques and vintage items continues to grow.
